Teresa Yen

Managing Partner – Radiant Capital

Ms Yen is Founder and Managing Partner of Radiant Capital, a Northeast Asia focused private equity investment management group targeting complex, value-driven opportunities in the region.
 
At Radiant, Ms. Yen led the historic acquisition of Nan Ho Industrial, a major south Taiwan real estate and asset holding company with more than 100 years of history, including sourcing, negotiation and structuring of the complex cross-border share purchase: the largest US private equity investment ever in south Taiwan.  Since 2014 Ms. Yen acts as Board Director and Acting Chairman at Nan Ho Industrial and its subsidiaries.
 
Ms. Yen led the development of Taiwan’s one-of-a-kind “South Park Solar City” project, a solar-powered themed, master-planned 107-hectare residential community development located beside the Tainan Science and Technology Park accompanying TSMC’s Tainan expansion.  The successful project encompassed complex aspects of public-private investment, community design, infrastructure development and renewable energy generation.

 

Previously Ms Yen was a Managing Director for Cerberus, a major US Private Equity fund with US$25 billion under management, from 2002 to 2012, responsible for all investments in the Greater China region, including PRC, Hong Kong and Taiwan.  At Cerberus Ms. Yen led private equity investments focusing on financial services and capital intensive manufacturing industries as well as real estate (e.g. hard assets, mezzanine financing, NPLs).

 

Ms. Yen was part of the global KPMG real estate practice where she managed real estate consulting engagements in US, Japan, Korea and Taiwan.  Prior experience spanned corporate finance (Sumitomo Mitsui Bank, Japan Long-Term Credit Bank LTCB) and real estate finance (Heller Financial), giving her the deep strategic insight and direct management skill-set that form the foundation of Radiant Capital.  Ms Yen is an Independent Non-Executive Director at Yue Yuen Industrial Holdings (HK:551), the largest branded athletic footwear manufacturer in the world.

 

Ms. Yen is fluent in English, Mandarin, Japanese and Taiwanese, uniquely suited to identifying and negotiating complex investments across borders and cultures.

 

Ms. Yen received her undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley (1992) and her M.B.A. from University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business (1999).
