

Toshiya J. Kuroda

Mr. Kuroda has 30+ years of professional experience in private equity investment in
real estate and strategic asset management in Tokyo, New York and Los Angeles.
Mr. Kuroda’s consummate experience includes 12-year tenure at Oaktree Capital
Management, L.P., where he led several high-profiled investments in Japan including
the takeover bid on a listed JREIT in 2008. With Mr. Kuroda as Executive Director of
the JREIT until 2015, total assets grew from JPY100 bn to JPY220 bn and dividend
increased 2.4+ times via strategic merger and prudent property acquisitions.
Mr. Kuroda’s earlier professional experience encompasses 2 years at Kennedy Wilson Japan, 2 years at KPMG LLP (Los Angeles), 5 years at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (Los Angeles), and 1 year at Kidder Peabody & Co. (New York).
Mr. Kuroda possesses a broad network of business contacts with investors, real
estate companies, investment firms as well as financial institutions in Japan. Since
2018, he lectures at Waseda University on real estate investment.
Mr. Kuroda has a B.A. (Law) from Keio University in Tokyo, MBA from State
University of New York at Buffalo, and LL.M. from Fordham University School of Law.
